Since 2009, the Christian Community Service Center (CCSC) has hosted Food Fair events to serve our neighbors in need. A Food Fair looks much like a farmers market. CCSC receives several pallets of fresh produce/food products from the Houston Food Bank to distribute to hundreds of community members. This activity supplements our ongoing food pantry efforts to eliminate hunger in the Alief/Sharpstown/Gulfton area.
Volunteers are needed to greet and guide clients, organize and pass out the nutritious fruits and vegetables, and more. Please note that nearly all volunteer jobs will occur outdoors and require light to moderate lifting. Wear comfortable, cool clothing/shoes, headgear and sunscreen. Water and snacks will be supplied. Please leave your valuable items/purses at home.
